Our client is a premier event management company based in Toronto, specializing in high-level events for Fortune 500 companies. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a Director of Conference & Events to lead their high-profile projects. This hands-on role requires a dynamic leader with agency experience, reporting directly to the Vice President of Conference & Events, and managing a team of two direct reports.
**Compensation**:
- Base salary of $115,000
- 10% annual bonus
- 4 weeks of vacation
- Full benefits package
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead the planning and execution of high-profile events for Fortune 500 clients, ensuring excellence in every aspect of event delivery.
- Work closely with the Vice President of Conference & Events to align strategies with the company’s goals and client expectations.
- Oversee a team of two direct reports, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to develop their skills and performance.
- Manage client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for key accounts to ensure satisfaction and alignment with client objectives.
- Develop event concepts, themes, and experiences tailored to the unique needs of each corporate client, leveraging creativity and industry trends.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure seamless logistics and high-quality service delivery for each event.
- Oversee budgeting, financial tracking, and cost management for each event, ensuring projects stay within financial guidelines.
- Conduct site visits, venue negotiations, and logístical planning to ensure every detail is accounted for.
- Evaluate event success and gather client feedback to continuously improve event strategies and processes.
- Stay informed on industry trends and innovative practices to keep the company at the forefront of the event management industry.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in a senior event management role within an agency setting, with a focus on corporate events for high-level clients.
- Hands-on leadership skills, with experience managing a team and delivering complex events.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
- Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with Fortune 500 executives.
- Creative and detail-oriented mindset, with a commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and event software tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the Toronto events landscape and vendor network is a strong asset.
