**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Manager of Grants and External Relations, the Grants Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the grants portfolio of the Office of Strategic Initiatives and External Relations (SIER). The incumbent is responsible for identifying potential funding sources, matching them with appropriate needs/requests, formulating necessary procedures for the timely and accurate review and submission of proposals, and establishing the necessary controls to effectively and efficiently utilize the funding in compliance with funding requirements.

The position is responsible for supporting SIER activities including, but not limited to:

- Grants Research - conduct research on relevant grants and projects proposed by College departments and/or industry partners

**Responsibilities**
- Research grant opportunities for the purpose of developing additional funding resources for both current and proposed projects, services, programs and administrative operations and initiatives of various College areas as well as industry partners
- Serve as a liaison between applicant and granting agencies in the interpretation of proposal guidelines (including budget requirements), preparation and submission of grant proposals, reporting on funded project activities
- Conduct, coordinate and assist in the planning, execution and submission of grant and project proposals for College departments and external partners according to granting agency requirements
- Collaborate with Project Lead and Projects & Event Coordinator to develop and finalize project proposals and charters as requested by internal/external partners, to ensure alignment with potential funding opportunities
- Monitor and coordinate the administration of post-award grants and other partners to ensure the integrity of budgeting, policies, procedures, and agency requirements
- Maintain grants database to track available funds, proposals submitted, awards received, and related information and utilize data to prepare scheduled and special reports as required
- Develop and maintain specialized databases and systems for recording and tracking grant and funding referrals/requests to support special projects and metrics to enhance SIER’s grants portfolio
- Create and distribute status reports on funding activities for college leadership teams
- Develop and maintain a database of reference documentation including funding agencies and timelines
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Four-year undergraduate University degree in the area of public administration, public and/or regulatory policy, or communications or a related field. Completion of an undergraduate and/or graduate level research (thesis preferred). Project management certificate an asset
- Knowledge of funding policies, procedures, applicable regulations and experience researching funding organizations and agencies for grants relevant to proposed projects
- Proven database management skills
- Demonstrated written communication and editing skills; ability to produce clear and concise reports
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets
- Demonstrated experience building and sustaining collaborative partnerships and teams
- Demonstrates high independence of action, able to work with mínimal supervision to produce high quality results to meet deadlines
- Must be comfortable working in a communal work space (shared work table) with limited privacy
