**Position Summary**
Centennial College is hiring a Project Lead in the Office of Strategic Initiatives and External Relations (SIER) to manage departmental strategic initiatives that create a competitive advantage for Centennial College. Reporting to the Manager of Grants and External Relations, the Project Lead oversees wide-scale strategic projects with stakeholders from across the institution, inclusive of, but not limited to, strategic partnerships and pathways, capital investments and government funded initiatives. The incumbent also contributes to the development of program advisory committees, cooperative education opportunities, and new program development related to College alignment with industry and government priorities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepares project charters, project plans and critical paths, which include project budgets, milestones, inter-dependencies, stakeholder management strategies, potential risks and mitigation strategies, and progress reports against milestones
- Conducts risk assessments and assesses industry best practices to identify potential partners from educational institutions, industry and community organizations that will create a competitive advantage for the college.
- Identifies the need for and assists in the formulation of contracts, memoranda of understanding, etc. between SIER (and where appropriate, the College) and external parties.
- Prepares and conducts presentations to clients and partners in an effort to establish relationships and to secure cooperation and attenuation to deliverables and milestones
- Chairs meetings with internal and external project stakeholders (from students to senior administration) to capture and/or present new information, status updates and key findings and assigns required actions to complete projects and overcome barriers to project completion.
- Establishes and monitors multiple project budgets including identification and assignment of required resources.
- Conducts regular consultation with internal stakeholders across all departments including Schools, Applied Research, International, Corporate Training, Cooperative Education and the Development Office, in order to identify project opportunities and develop/maintain inter-departmental relationships
- Balances multiple high priority projects which requires prioritization of project activities
- Represents the College and SIER at networking functions to promote/sell the College’s services and reputation as a leader in the field of education, to spread recognition of the College “brand”, and to foster collaboration with partners
- Regular communication with representatives from all levels of government (municipal, provincial, federal) to ensure alignment with industry trends and government policies/priorities.
- Maintains a project database to track the progress and outcomes of all projects undertaken by the SIER department

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Four-year degree in Social Sciences, Business or equivalent
- Project Management Certificate required; Actively working towards PMP designation an asset
- Minimum three years’ experience leading and coordinating projects within the Postsecondary Education Sector
- Experience with contracts, proposals, policies and procedures preferably within a related industry
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
