**Position Summary**

Racialized students face various institutional barriers throughout their student journey, and a coordinated systemic approach is required to identify and dismantle these barriers. Introduced by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities in 2018, the Ontario Post-secondary Access and Inclusion Program (OPAIP) grant is intended to support racialized students. Funded by the OPAIP grant and as part of Student and Community Engagement - Advising and Pathways, the Coordinator actively participates on the Access, Retention and Persistence Advisory Committee (name and scope to be determined), which will offer guidance and direction to the initiative implementation team and advise on any adaptations during the course of the initiative to enhance/improve capacity to achieve deliverables.

**Responsibilities**
- Designs, develops and delivers in reach and engagement strategies for confirmed and current students, encouraging students from racialized and equity deserving groups to access the support services necessary to achieve the education for a career, and increasing the percentage of students from racialized and equity deserving groups persisting through and graduating in post-secondary programs.
- Tracks and analyzes engagement and persistence data, including term-to-term enrolment and grades in partnership with the Success Advisors and specialized advisors.
- Assists with the development of marketing materials to accompany in reach/program strategies.
- Develops targeted communication plans and seeks new and creative opportunities to market programs to diverse learners from racialized and equity deserving groups.
- Participates in school and student life events, and representing and promoting the program throughout the College by preparing and delivering relevant presentations for partners in local college area pertaining to resources for learners from racialized and equity deserving groups enrolled in programs at the College.
- Designs, develops and delivers a suite of synchronous/asynchronous, online/in-person workshops/modules to support the transition of students into, through and out of the College, embedding content into existing College infrastructure to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Responsible for the coordination and delivery of all activities related to the OPAIP Funded Racialized Student Advising Program including in reach and engagement activities, recruitment, registration, space booking, facility hiring, supply purchasing, budget oversight.
- Maintains individual relationships that promote learner/student persistence, often over years, to assist racialized students in achieving educational and career goals, before, during and after full time study.
- Works in collaboration with Success Advisors, Counsellors, Pathways, Advisors and other College staff to support students in their educational attainment.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Minimum 3-year diploma or degree related to Community Services, Social Work, Child and Youth Work, Education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three (3) years’ related experience working with students or clients from racialized and equity deserving groups/youth-at-risk seeking education, or experience working in a community organization, secondary school, or post-secondary institution supporting and advising individuals requiring support and/or intervention to participate in post-secondary education from demographics that are racialized and equity deserving.
- Experience must include independently assessing student/client barriers and challenges for ongoing case management purposes and coaching them towards developing solutions.
