Are you passionate about social justice, collaboration, and creating a sense of community for residents living at Elizabeth House? The Community Engagement Coordinator role is an opportunity for a resourceful individual who understands how to create connections and the value of a shared meal. e4c’s permanent housing residence provides housing for people who due to histories of trauma and related mental illness and addictions, need enhanced levels of housing support.

We believe that the more people are included and involved in all aspects of program delivery the better our community will be. The Community Engagement Coordinator is the hands-on connector that brings everyone together. You will develop a vision and strong voice through meaningful partnerships within the program, and the external community, contributing to the success of a safe home environment.
- What you bring to the team:

- You possess a minimum two-year diploma in the area of human services or related discipline.
- You have 3+ years of related direct service work experience with diverse communities with varying and complex priorities and needs.
- You understand the power of coming together during meal times to create connection and understanding.
- You are comfortable in a kitchen setting able to create nutritious meals for twenty residents and manage a kitchen budget.
- You describe yourself as someone who utilizes a harm reduction, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach.
- You are interested in developing opportunities both at Elizabeth House and in the outside community.
- You are excited by the idea of a community garden and look forward to sharing in the harvest.
- You are comfortable in a collaborative team environment.
- You are able to use a personal vehicle to travel within Edmonton to pick up grocery orders or attend community events.

Important work you will do at e4c:

- Explore social issues that affect current residents and respond to their emerging problems, needs, and areas for improvement through relationship-based approaches.
- Oversees develops and administers program food budget.
- Plan and prepare meals in accordance with residents’ preferences in alignment with the Canada Food Guide and licensing requirements for up to 20 residents alongside the Lifeskills Coordinators.
- Maintain food inventory and kitchen supplies in adherence to the food budget.
- Connect and include residents in the food production cycle through the cultivation and care of a community garden.
- Inform and receive information from the integrated staff team regarding progress of residents, changes in behavior, and challenges that residents may be experiencing.
- Assist with medication administration per program policy.
- Work in partnership to clean and maintain Elizabeth House to ensure compliance with all legislation, bylaws, and standards.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders and act as a point of contact for the community.
