As part of the Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives Division, the Strategic Policy and Planning branch provides strategic and integrated policy and project services for the department of Justice on a wide range of programs and services under department legislation.

**Role Responsibilities**:
The Strategic Policy and Engagement Unit has two positions available for policy professionals looking to leverage their skills in a dynamic and complex environment.

Both positions report to the Manager of Strategic Policy & Engagement. The Strategic Policy and Engagement Team (Team) supports internal and external stakeholder engagement and related project management and policy development activities to support strategic initiatives across the Ministry of Justice. These positions require effective coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills to respond to sensitive, diverse and complex issues pertaining to the justice system.

**1. **Coordination and Engagement Analyst (Program Services 3)**
- As the Coordination and Engagement Analyst you will be:

- Supporting the development of strategic engagement plans.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement activities, projects and events including developing project plans, terms of reference, meeting materials etc.
- Conducting briefing notes options documents, and jurisdictional and environmental scans.
- Developing responses to public correspondence and other action requests. Coordinating departmental responses to cross-ministry initiatives.**2. **Senior Engagement Analyst (Program Services 4)**
- As the Senior Engagement Analyst you will be:

- Leading the development of strategic engagement plans to support ministry and government priorities.
- Working directly with department experts on engagement activities required to support legislative and policy priorities.
- Coordinating and planning public facing events such as the annual Community Justice Awards.
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to plan, oversee, analyze, and coordinate implementation of high priority Justice policies and projects. Conducting research and policy analysis of relevant information to provide strategic advice and options on a number of major policy initiatives that support the Department’s strategic directions for the justice system.**APS Competencies**:

**Minimum Requirements**:
**1. Coordination and Engagement Analyst (Program Services 3)**
- University graduation in a related field. 2 years related policy and/or engagement experience.**2. Senior Engagement Analyst (Program Services 4)**
- University graduation in a related field. 4 years related policy and/or engagement experience.Equivalencies will be considered based on one-year experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

**Assets (both positions)**:

- Experience supporting or leading engagement activities including drafting strategic engagement plans and developing engagement materials.
- Experience with event coordination and hosting processes (such as vendor processing and accommodations).
- Experience planning leading and facilitating meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with government systems, policy cycle and policy approval processes.
