The community relationship coordinator ensures the coordination of BSCS activities in the a through building relationships with network partners, community members and the public.

The core responsibility of the position is to provide overall support to the development department regarding donations, supporters, volunteers, events, and campaigns.

This role will work in collaboration with other team members to organize fundraising, volunteering and community events.

This position plays a key role in offering opportunities for education and engagement at BSCS for community members and the public.

Wage: 24.78

Position Responsibilities

  • Donor Support; respond to queries from the public about fundraising activities and getting involved.
  • Stewardship and reciprocity
    ; supporting prompt and personalized expressions of gratitude to donors and supporters.
  • Data oversight and tracking;
    support with consistent data entry and data utilization and create reports that indicate the progress of our work and inform decision making.
  • General development work & special projects; support the development of ongoing engagement opportunities, including tours, meal services, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Build rapport with partners and offer the public opportunities to engage and support BSCS through various fundraising campaigns or volunteer work.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration, while responding to the needs of partners and stakeholders
  • Regularly utilize and maintain our donor database and ensure fundraising compliance is always upheld.
  • BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience working in administration or fundraising.
  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency guidelines and regulations
  • Experience networking with a range of stakeholders and community partners
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of poverty related issues, trends, and services particularly, but not limited to the urban aboriginal population is essential.
  • Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the past six months.
  • Valid First Aid certificate or enrolled in a future course
