**What responsibilities will you have in this role?**

The incumbent will manage the Office of Partnerships, Industry and Alumni Relations located in the Office of the Dean - Centre for Business (CfB). The incumbent reports to and works closely with the Dean to provide strategic leadership in the fulfillment CfB’s vision to expand and foster partnerships and collaboration with industries, professional associations, and other post-secondary institutions both domestic and international.
- Plans, coordinates, and stewards strategic partnerships with both academic and non-academic organizations and other external stakeholder relationships of CfB.
- Identifies strategic partners, builds, manages, provides stewardship of them, and cultivates stewardship plans for CfB.
- Fosters long-term relationships using a “concierge approach” to partnerships, taking the time to learn the inner workings of a business or association, finding a need or a gap in these organization and assisting the Dean in strategizing to capitalizing on it by demonstrating reciprocal value between CfB and partners.
- Conducts market research and data analysis on organizations to identify opportunities to expand CfB’s portfolio of relations and capitalize on the opportunities that could be derived from fostering these relationships.
- Identifies, cultivates, and solicits from donors/sponsors for fundraising.
- Develops and executes advancement plans and strategies to accomplish fundraising goals.
- Partners with GBC Foundation Office to maintain donor's involvement, interest, and support.
- Plans and executes CfB’s fundraising and alumni events ensuring a donor centric approach to planning is always present.
- Leads a team of business development officers whose primary function is generating new leads to support corporate partnerships and collaborations along with CfB experiential learning opportunities such as internships, co-op education, capstone projects, consultation projects, etc.
- Guides the business development process to curate the portfolio of business relationships and ensure consistency in the management of them and maintain high quality engagements.
- Leads the development and implementation of alumni engagement plans through the creation, execution and measurement of sustainable alumni relations programs and events.
- Leads and manages CfB’s special projects ensuring that projects are properly executed, and reports produced.
- Participates in committees and reaches out directly to associations/ organizations involved in special projects both internal and external to GBC.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**What qualifications do you need for this role?**
- Four-year Degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business Administration or equivalent.
- Minimum five years of experience in partnerships development, business development or project management.
- Strong working knowledge of most key aspects of post-secondary delivery.
- Professional level business writing skills, including regular proposal and report writing.
- Experience in managing teams, coaching and teambuilding.
- Problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills as well as proven ability to build effective and respectful working relationships are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities; ability to collaborate effectively using a broad range of influence styles to drive desired results; works well with others and is considered a true team player.
- Excellent customer services skills: superior organizational, planning and time management skills are required.
- Exceptional verbal and oral communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative relationship building skills.
- Ability to travel between campuses frequently.
- Effective ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experience and styles.
- Flexibility in adapting to change and in participating in consultative decision-making processes.
