Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the HIM Culture & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in day-to-day activities and initiatives that support the HIM Culture and Communications strategy with the goal of enhancing the employee experience, developing leadership capacity, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and learning, and building employee engagement at Health Information Management (HIM).

In addition, the position is responsible for the design, maintenance, and management of the HIM SharePoint sites (internal website for staff and external website for the public), as well as seeking out new ways to grow HIM’s presence online, especially through various social media channels, including LinkedIn. Coordinates specific projects and provides support for HIM people and culture initiatives through effective staff and partner engagement. Specific responsibilities include the development and delivery of strategic communications plans and tactics; writing and distribution of various communication materials; coordination and support for various HIM projects, initiatives, and engagement activities; and HIM brand recognition and reputation management. Works closely with the Regional Manager to ensure that key messages are delivered in a clear, coordinated, and consistent manner to all relevant audiences.

This is a hybrid role.

Qualifications / Skills and Education:
Education, Training and Experience

Completion of a university degree in a related field such as communications, journalism, or marketing/advertising, plus three (3) years’ experience in organizational communications and internal/external engagement activities or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional assets: experience in health care communications, online course design, IABC membership.

Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills with proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including fully competent skills in the use of the following software: Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, Canva, Zoom.
- Demonstrated SharePoint experience; Drupal experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge in managing an online community and developing

content to support social media communications, especially on LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM, web analytics and digital reporting (such as Google Analytics, Google Data Studio).
- Demonstrated researching, editing, and proofreading skills, with exemplary attention to detail.
- Independent initiative, sound judgment and developed decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines.
- A results-oriented and an enthusiastic team player who thrives on new challenges.
- Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive issues with skill, tact, and diplomacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Researches, interviews, writes, edits, and produces diverse communications materials such as articles, newsletters, bulletins, web publishing, news releases, speeches, talking points, briefing notes, brochures, pamphlets, backgrounders, special features, presentations, community reports and other materials, in collaboration with other HIM team members, on issues of importance to both internal and external partners.

2.Responsible for the design, maintenance, and management of our HIM SharePoint sites (internal website for staff and external website for the public). Ensures the HIM internal website is updated, accurate and optimized for best use by staff. Works toward continuously improving the HIM external website, in collaboration with teams across the organization, to ensure it is accurate and an integral resource for patients and the public.

3.Supports Culture initiatives across HIM: the employee life cycle (recruitment, onboarding, retention, succession planning); recognition; engagement; employee experience and well-being; internal communications; training, and more.

4.Assists in learning and development initiatives for HIM staff, with a focus on supporting employee growth within the organization. This includes facilitating virtual and in-person learning sessions.

5.Manages and develops original written and visual content for HIM, including maintenance of social media channels, especially LinkedIn and YouTube. Hands-on experience of social content strategy, social brand management, campaign management and performance measurement. Constantly seeks new ways to improve use of all communications vehicles for staff, clinician, and leaders in the delivery of HIM services.
