Job Title: Arts and Culture Program Coordinator


The District of West Vancouver is seeking a skilled Arts and Culture Program Coordinator to join the Parks, Culture, and Community Services Division. This position will be responsible for the development and planning of arts and cultural programs and initiatives, and supporting the administration, production, and maintenance of public art throughout the District.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate community arts and culture programs;
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate casual staff, instructors, and contractors;
  • Prepare promotional materials and promote interest and participation in arts and culture programs;
  • Support the public art program, coordinating annual maintenance, documentation of inventory, organizing unveilings, and special events pertaining to installations;
  • Grant writing and partnership coordination;
  • Work collaboratively as part of an engaged team to support and promote district-wide cultural services programs and events;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:


The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, budgetary, organizational, communication, and customer service skills, as well as innovative, proactive, reliable, and responsible qualities. A minimum of 5 years of experience in arts and culture programming is preferred, along with some knowledge of public art. Knowledge of the arts and culture sector needs, trends, interests, and resources of and for the community is also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia are mandatory. Working knowledge of JD Edwards and Activenet software is considered an asset. University graduation in Fine Arts or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is also required.
