Accounting and Administrative Assistant

**Canadian Mailbox Company** is family-owned manufacturing company specializing in postal products and storage solutions for over 40 years, with a distribution network and customers across North America. We are on a growth mission and are looking for the right leader to help us build for the future.
**AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**
- Accounting & Financial analysis_
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Full-cycle accounting: identifying and recording transactions, postings, bank reconciliations (multiple accounts), credit card reconciliations, preparing the unadjusted trial balance, the worksheet, adjusting journal entries, preparing financial statements, and closing the books.
- Monthly sales reporting
- Monthly GST/PST filing
- Work with an independent accounting firm to prepare the year-end financial statements
- Staying current with all federal and provincial requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
- Payroll_
- Weekly payroll processing and maintenance of employee files and records
- Making sure we are current and meet compliance with Revenue Québec and Revenue Canada, HR, legal, accounting, etc.
- HR (payroll, CNESST, ROE, hiring, termination, etc.)
- Administrative tasks_
- Invoice management: Follow-up on past due invoices, preparing customer invoices
- Problem solving relating to building maintenance
- Assist with event coordination and meeting preparation
- Controlling and purchasing office supplies.
- Purchasing manufacturing supplies, verifying supplier invoices and ensuring payments.
**Qualifications**
- Proven bookkeeping/accounting experience with a minimum 5-10 years of full-cycle accounting
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable principals
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knock for numbers
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- High degree of organizational skills and independence
- Experience with Nethris and Simply Accounting is preferred.
- Experience processing payroll
- Great communication skills
- Bilingual (spoken and written)
**Salary**: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
