**The Role**:
We are looking for a Planning and Coordination Officer (PCO) to support our Security Branch. The Planning and Coordination Officer (PCO) would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

The Planning and Coordination Officer (PCO) acts as the main operational planning and activity coordination resource for the Chief Security Officer (CSO) in the management of day-to-day activities of the Security Branch (SB) ensuring activities, strategic initiatives and projects, as well as information strategies are coordinated and under control for effective and efficient operations (i.e., organizational commitments are achieved). The PCO accesses requests from internal and external stakeholders, coordinates actions, and prepares responses to requests, enquiries and recommends approaches to new initiatives by working collaboratively with managers, staff, external service providers, central agencies and departments and liaising with the CSO’s Office, other members of NRC executive’s offices, branches, research centers, IRAP, and public and private national stakeholders.

The PCO manages the planning and analysis/reporting of the SB budget.

The PCO will be responsible for the supervision of a small team.

The incumbent actively participates in various meetings involved in areas such as, investment plan projects, procurement initiatives and activities, Information Management (IM) / Information Technology (IT), human resources projects, and various internal meetings, on a needs basis.

Graduation from a recognized University in a relevant field.

An equivalent combination of work-related experience and education **may also be considered**.

**Experience**:

- Experience providing recommendations and options for consideration by analyzing emerging operational issues from consultations with stakeholders such as directors, managers, staff or HR.
- Experience providing sound advice by formulating strategic, concise and accurate briefings notes following a thorough review process.
- Experience preparing agenda items, action lists and briefings for the management meetings by developing the required content which may include written/formal documentation, coordinating follow-up and next steps emerging from those executive meetings.
- Experience communicating and interacting effectively with senior managers, senior staff, expert committee members, managers and external stakeholders.
- Experience in budgeting principles and practices.
- Experience in management theories, principles and practices, such as Project Management and Change Management.
- Experience in the supervision of staff **may be considered an asset**.

**Condition of Employment**:
Secret (II)

A Secret clearance must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
