Administration Unit Head

We are seeking an Administration Unit Head to join our BPA team in Toronto. The office location is 1263 Wilson Ave.
The Administration Unit Head oversees staff whose job functions include processing of employer
benefit contribution reports and maintaining enrollment data of benefit plan participants. He or
she ensures contribution reports are verified for accuracy according to clients’ contract
specifications in order to determine accurate benefit plan entitlements for members, identify
employer payment irregularities, initiate collection efforts and enforce delinquency procedures.
**The Administration Unit Head will**:
- Assist the Administration Supervisor with directing and managing Administration Department staff
- Analyze issues and requests brought forward by clients or staff and provide alternative solutions and direction based on system capabilities and established company policies
- Develop improved methods for carrying out the department’s work
- Train new staff and develop skills of existing staff members
- Review and Process Monthly Bank reconciliation
- Be responsible for processing weekly transfers to the Accounting department and online wire transfers received by Employers
- Maintain responsibility for processing reciprocal hours transfer requests received by affiliated locals on
members’ behalf
- Processes affidavits received from legal office regarding member information
- Responds to enquiries from members, employers, and union representatives
- Produce letters requested by members/ other departments confirming benefit status eligibility, and dependent information
- Act as liaison for the CCO office, processes grievance reports, employer NSF notices
- Periodically create and review queries to maintain data integrity on MEBS system
- Assist with month end duties - disbursement packages, preprint confirmations etc.
- Review and sign off on employer manual adjustments and forced valid balances
- Maintain security and confidentiality of client records.
**T**o be successful **as an Administration Unit Head **with BPA, you will need**:
- A university degree or related business training from a recognized educational institution and 2 or more years of related working experience; OR, 5 years of related working experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
- Experience relevant to the duties and accountabilities of the position working in a customer service environment preferably related to the administration of group benefits insurance programs
- Knowledge of financial records and systems with demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data
- To be PC proficient with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word skills essential)
- A functioning understanding of the legacy system “AS400”
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- The ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- The ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities
- Strong leadership, training, coaching and organizational skills
