The Human Resources Generalist acts in a standalone role, supporting all HR functions across Ebco and ACSI including recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits administration, training, health and safety, and union and employee relations. Providing quality customer service to management and employees is critical to the success of this role.

**Advanced Cyclotron Systems Inc. (ACSI)** is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of cyclotron equipment used for the production of radioisotopes and radiocompounds for nuclear medicine. Our global customer base includes hospitals, universities, research facilities and commercial distributors of medical isotopes.

**DUTIES**:

- Maintain the new hire orientation process which includes updating and communicating the process to all parties involved as well as coordinating the activities leading up to the new hires’ first day.
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and union representatives, including participating in collective bargaining, managing grievances, ensuring compliance with the CBA and fostering positive relationships
- Organize safety critical training for shop floor employees and manage training records
- Maintain various human resources records, filing systems, databases and reporting requirements and ensure that they are accomplished in an efficient and effective manner that ensures confidentiality is maintained.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to managers for absence tracking (vacation, leaves of absence, etc.) employee performance or other reporting as requested.
- Investigate concerns, and provide advice, assistance, and interpretation on human resources, employee relations, health and safety and collective agreement issues.
- Administer the employee benefit plans, liaising with the benefit carriers and brokers and assist employees with various benefit inquiries and benefit orientation.
- Support the health and safety practices across the organization by organizing and co-chairing the Health and Safety Committee, and organizing safety crew talks.
- Create, maintain and take complete ownership of the Company’s Attendance Management Program including all absences including short and long term disability and WorkSafeBC Claims.
- Proactively investigate, analyze and recommend changes for Company’s existing internal HR processes and programs to achieve best practices, including updating HR policies and processes.
- Assist in other related HR tasks and projects as assigned by manager.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

**Technical Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources and/or Business Management.
- At least 3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a unionized environment
- Experience supporting staff in a manufacturing/ industrial environment is an asset
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer).
- Strong knowledge of HRIS
- Strong knowledge of and ability to interpret employment and labour relations legislation (Employment Standards, WCB, Privacy Act, etc) and common law practices.
- Knowledge of effective and relevant job recruitment and selection processes.
- Strong problem solving, decision making and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, with strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and deal effectively, tactfully and with complete confidentiality with employees, members of the public and other departments in the interpretations and administration of human resources related matters and in the collection and distribution of data.
- Ability to develop effective relationships across all organizational levels
