We are currently seeking a to join our growing team at Herbaland Headquarter, located in Richmond, BC.

Summary:
The HR Generalist at Herbaland will play a critical role in supporting the Human Resources department across a range of functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance.

Job Duties:

- Develop and maintain job descriptions and specifications.
- Conduct interviews, reference checks, and background screenings.
- Facilitate new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Support the performance review process, including the preparation of performance evaluations and documentation.
- Assist managers in setting performance goals and providing constructive feedback.
- Identify and address performance issues, working with management to implement improvement plans.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Coordinate open enrollment periods and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding employee benefits.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and documentation for audits and other compliance activities.
- Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs and workshops.
- Support career development initiatives and succession planning efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct periodic reviews of HR policies to ensure alignment with best practices and legal requirements.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
- Ability to develop and maintain job descriptions and specifications.
- Skilled in conducting interviews, reference checks, and background screenings.
- Experience in facilitating new employee orientations and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- Strong problem-solving skills to act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support.
- Ability to foster a positive and inclusive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Knowledge of supporting the performance review process, including the preparation of performance evaluations and documentation.

Work Conditions:

- Travel may be required.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
