**Human Resources Business Partner**

**Profile**:
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the HR Business Partner is responsible for the effective delivery of strategic consultation and guidance to assigned business units on key HR areas including employee relations, talent management and performance management. They are expected to learn their assigned business inside and out and work closely with all areas of P&C to develop and implement effective solutions, keeping current on trends, challenges and priorities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide expert advice, support, and guidance on a broad range of HR issues
- Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision making that impacts employees
- Provide thoughtful and effective coaching to managers
- Champion P&C interventions that improve business performance through people
- Work with other P&C Senior Leads in implementing a talent strategy to build a culture

that is diverse, inclusive, innovative and encourages continual learning
- Lead or participate in initiatives to increase employee engagement and leadership

effectiveness
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Identify and manage employment related risks, ensuring compliance with all relevant

employment-related legislation across Canada
- Maintain a thorough awareness of employee relations and HR trends
- Provide leadership and coaching to two direct reports
- Manage special projects and other duties as assigned

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Minimum five years of human resources management experience in a generalist role,

with significant exposure to employee relations
- Post-secondary degree in a related field; CHRL designation preferred
- Proven experience managing a team of direct reports
- Solid working knowledge of relevant employment legislation across Canada
- Track record of professional judgment and superior analytical skills, ability to counsel

managers and employees and resolve employment issues
- Strong relationship management, effective listening, communication skills and

interpersonal skills across all levels, with commitment to providing exceptional customer service
- Strong problem-solving skills, while mitigating risk to the organization
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work with confidential and sensitive material, with a high degree of accuracy, often in time-sensitive situations

This position will be based at our Toronto office, with the option for a hybrid work arrangement.
