Primary Role of This Position
This position provides senior-level support to all aspects of the HR function with a focus on employee relations, performance management, and benefits. In collaboration with the Director, Human Resources, this position will partner with various levels of management to develop and execute HR strategies aligned to business goals and objectives. As a seasoned and dynamic leader, you will possess sound decision-making and critical-thinking skills in your ability to coach and mentor HR team members. You can think strategically and execute corporate/departmental initiatives, while maintaining focus on the day-to-day operations of the HR department.

Major Responsibilities
+ Work with leadership and various stakeholders to develop and implement Human Resources strategies that are aligned with the organization’s corporate values and business objectives
+ Researching best practices and keeping up with the latest trends in HR
+ Participate in the development of departmental goals, objectives, and systems
+ Oversee the implementation of Human Resources programs and identifies opportunities for improvement
+ Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company policies and provincial law and regulations and minimizes risk
+ Coach and train managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them
+ Make certain that the managers know how to communicate with employees successfully, ethically, honestly, and legally
+ Monitor the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees
+ Play a role in the implementation of the annual Performance Management and Review Cycle
+ Identify opportunities to optimize how the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is utilized by the HR team in order to eliminate administrative/manual tasks
+ Work closely with the HR team to ensure compensation practices align with the Kohl & Frisch (K&F) recruitment, selection, and hiring processes
+ Ensure accuracy of K&F’s group health benefits plan and pension programs
+ Support the annual HR budgeting process by providing input
+ Other duties as required

Education and Experience
+ Post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Resources Management/CHRP designation
+ 8+ years of HR and/or equivalent leadership experience
+ Organizational development, training, and project management experience is an asset
+ Working knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce is an asset
