The **ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SUPERVISOR** provides financial and administrative support by supervising the accounts payable function and its’ staff. The position ensures that vendors’ invoices are processed and paid on a timely basis within the agreed upon terms; that expenses are reimbursed on a timely basis and that accurate financial records are kept in accordance with Company requirements. The position is also responsible for month-end duties such as reporting and analysis of various vendor and general ledger accounts.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Supervises Accounts Payable staff to ensure that all below listed responsibilities are discharged.
- Reviews, verifies and processes vendor invoices into the financial systems.
- Sorts and matches charges on vendor invoices to respective job numbers and enters into operations system.
- Investigates all discrepancies between vendor invoice and operational system.
- Ensures general ledger coding of vendor invoices/expense vouchers is correct.
- Interacts with vendors to resolve any and all discrepancies.
- Reconciles vendor accounts on a regular, predetermined schedule.
- Calculates, reconciles and pays all sales taxes on the due dates.
- Assists with month end close - specific duties to be determined in coordination with the Assistant Accounting Manager and Director, Finance & Accounting.
- Serves as a Team Leader who capably conducts hiring interviews, trains, develops, manages, coaches and counsels direct reports
- Ensures adherence to global, regional and Company policies and procedures and drives individual Accountability for members of the team through leading by example.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum five (5) years A/P experience including two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in the International Freight Forwarding industry.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal business communication skills in English for communicating with customers/vendors and for making presentations.
- Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
- SAP-B1 experience is strongly preferred but not necessary.
- Must be willing to work from our Brampton office at least one (1) day per week plus three (3) days per week in the office during month-end.
