**Position Summary**:
Under the Direction of the Regional Manager-LTC, the Administrator is responsible and accountable for the total operation of the Long-Term Care Home. Ensures the efficient operation of the entire home is carried out in accordance with the corporate mission, vision, values, philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, procedures and all legislative requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess a post-secondary degree from a program that is a minimum of three years in duration, or a post-secondary diploma in health or social services from a program that is a minimum of two years in duration or be a grandfathered Administrator as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss 76 (1) and Ontario Regulation ss. 249/22 (3,4)
- Must have successfully completed or is enrolled in a program in long-term care home administration or management that is a minimum of 100 hours in duration of instruction time as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss 76 (1) and Ontario Regulation ss. 249/22 (3,4)
- Minimum of three (3) years managerial or supervisory experience in health or social services or in another managerial or supervisory capacity, if already successfully completed the course identified above
- Demonstrated strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional competencies related to life-long learning, public relations and health environmental awareness
- Prior experience in human resources and labour relations management preferred
- Possession of strong motivational, team building and time management skills
- Must be computer literate
- Must possess valid Driver’s License and be willing to travel
- Two years in this role to reach competency

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the formulation and maintenance of home:

- Responsible for completing staff performance appraisals
- Responsible for human resources and labour relations management for the home
- In conjunction with the Accounting Manager prepares the annual budget for the operation of the home
- Fiscally responsible for the operation of the Home
- Ensures adequate home resources (human and physical) are available to meet the assessed needs of the residents within fiscal constraints
- Keeps informed and facilitates implementation of the changing concepts and trends in Long Term Care
- Responsible for planning and practicing key marketing strategies with enhanced public relations in facing a competitive environment
- Ensures the implementation and maintenance of an organized system for accounting and record keeping within legislative guidelines
- Ensures compliance with all legislative requirements
- Participates in local and provincial committees
- Provides regular reports inclusive of all departmental reports on home programs and initiatives and overall home operations to the Regional Manager-LTC
- Provides Home Office feedback to all home personnel
- Promotes strong community linkages for sharing of resources
- Promotes the Home as a community health agency and maintains good relationships with other health providers through an effective public relations program
- Works cooperatively with community agencies to ensure a seamless transition for resident admission and discharge
- Maintains formal linkages with educational bodies to endorse the practice of research and promote the development of Long-Term Care
- Ensures CQI philosophy is enforced home wide
- Ensures a Risk Management program is in place and utilized home wide
- Ensures that safety is incorporated into all aspects of operation of the Home
- Ensures Home leadership in the community and industry by endorsing and implementing enhanced programs and processes such as accreditation, Gentlecare, etc.
- Recommends to the Regional Manager-LTC, the appointment of the Advisory Physician, advises of changes in key personnel and in policies that are conducive to good management practices
- Promotes wellness as a concept of living
- Responsible for supervision, mentoring and evaluating of senior managers
- Must ensure compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety
- Follows all roles and responsibilities for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act

**Hours of Work**:

- Available 7 days per week
