What you’ll do
The Human and Organizational Performance Division (HOPD) supports the CNSC’s mission and mandate by providing regulatory leadership and expertise in human factors, human performance, and organizational performance.

You will have the opportunity to use your expertise to work as part of a team to:

- Participate in the development/maintenance of CNSC’s regulatory framework.
- Analyze and assess licensee submissions pertaining to Human and Organizational Factors (HOF).
- Participate in technical licensing and compliance work of licensee facilities.
- Prepare recommendations, reports and other documentation.
- Review and analyze licensee events.
- Manage projects related to area of specialization.
- Represent CNSC at national and international technical/scientific meetings and organizations.
- Participate in the development of junior staff by providing a good role model, coaching and mentoring, and generally providing expertise as a resource for junior staff.

**Essential Qualifications**:
**Education**: University degree in Science, Engineering, or Social Science; or a combination of education, experience and relevant job knowledge in Human Factors, Engineering, Psychology (Industrial, Organizational, Cognitive or Social).

**Language requirements**:
English essential

**Experience**:

- Planning and executing compliance and licensing activities (e.g., conducting evaluations, inspections, audits and assessments).
- Written and verbal communication with staff and management on technical topics.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team to manage project planning, conduct, and deliverables.

**Knowledge of**:

- HOF domains and the fundamental principles, theories and practices of these domains applied in assessing HOF programs and practices within the nuclear industry or other high-reliability industries.
- Licensing and compliance processes, procedures and practices, which include inspection, investigation, assessment and analysis activities.
- Mentoring/training techniques provided within the group

**Ability to**:

- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
