Winnipeg, Canada Pollard Banknote Ltd Full time

We’re currently looking for a full-time 3 month term R&D Chemist that will report into our Corporate Lab Manager.

NOTE: The schedule will be a Monday to Friday day position. This may also require some afterhours time to attend press trials.

**What You’ll Do**
- Set up and conduct experiments, tests, analyses using such techniques as spectroscopy, physical and chemical testing techniques and microscopy
- Prepare prototype samples in the lab and record all variables related to the prototyping phase
- Perform quality control testing on new inks, coatings and substrates
- Promote effective communication between lab technicians, chemists and supervisors
- Ensure safe work practices are followed
- Keep work spaces clean, fill chemical bottles and other duties as assigned

- Ability to follow established procedures while working independently with a minimum amount of supervision
- Ability to record & organize data, perform work with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is an asset

**What You’ll Bring**:

- Bachelor of sciences preferably chemistry /biochemistry is required
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a chemistry lab is an asset
- Familiarity with analytical equipment for example FTIR, Goniometer etc. is an asset.
- Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be capable of lifting weights up to 40 lbs. with long periods of standing and walking
