Reporting to the Manager, Volunteer and Community Relations, the Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, coordination and implementation of corporate communications, advertising, fundraising, sponsorship cultivation, public engagement events, marketing strategies and initiatives for the Oshawa Senior Community Centres 55+.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare, implement and evaluate annual promotional plan, corporate communication and marketing strategies and initiatives to advance OSCC55+’s corporate image
- Design and produce various advertising and marketing tools; maintain and coordinate updates to OSCC55+ website various social media platforms
- Coordinate corporate fundraising activities, support OSCC55+’s annual giving campaign, coordinate sponsorship and advertising initiatives related to the business partner program
- Foster community and stakeholder relationships including media, politicians, corporate sponsors/donors, partner agencies and volunteers. Coordinate community displays that promote membership, programs & services
- Provide administrative support for various community relations/fundraising initiatives; assist with maintenance of corporate fundraising databases, track media coverage, compile reports, maintain website and social media analytics
- Assist with the maintenance of John Street facilities; provide back up support to branch staff as needed including program set-up and take-down and front desk reception.

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge and skills generally associated with the completion of a three (3) year diploma in Public Relations Communications or Marketing (Fundraising is an asset) from a recognized community college (or post-diploma certificate in Public Relations), plus four (4) years of relevant experience in public relations, marketing or communications along with advertising sales experience, working with external partners, media, local business and volunteers
- Certification in Social Media or Marketing would be considered an asset
- Advanced experience in designing creating and editing marketing materials, reports and other print materials
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure with short deadlines
- Excellent customer service experience and communication skills to deal effectively and courteously with staff, community and business partners and the public
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Possess initiative, and self-reliance with the ability to work independently or as a team member
- Possess personal qualities of maturity, tact, discretion and have a willing and co-operative attitude
- First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Ability to provide own transportation as required
