Why is this role important?
- The Communications Coordinator supports the operational aspects of the Communications team and provides strategic input when required. This includes support to internal and external communications initiatives, ability to conduct environmental scans, monitor and analyze social media metrics, supervise the work intake tool and triaging projects, and plays a key role in the development of the monthly CIHI Podcasts.
- What you'll do
- 1. Supports the Digital Communications Lead in the production of two monthly podcasts, helps develop written, visual and audio content and collaborates with internal teams to make sure publishing process completed on deadline.
- 2. Assists the Digital Communications Lead and podcast hosts with research and outreach to external guests.
- 3. Supports Digital Communications Specialists with social media research and analysis to support the development of better tactics and improved results.
- 4. Supports monitoring of social channels, as well as performs social scans on specific topics as requested, and reports potential issues.
- 5. Supports other communications activities as required, such as drafting social media messages, updating and developing content CIHI website, etc.
- 6. Coordinates approvals and production of digital communications materials, ensuring processes are followed and deadlines are met.
- 7. Supervises the work intake tool and connects with internal clients to identify scope and timelines.
- 8. Assists in development of training, process improvement and how-to guides as required.
- What you'll bring to the table
- Undergraduate degree in journalism, communications or combination of equivalent experience and education.
- One to three years related experience in communications.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Experience with social media platforms and tactics along with basic analytics.
- Experience with podcasting and/or audio storytelling.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the health/health information industry an asset.
- Fluency in both official languages is preferred.
