Job Summary
The Coordinator, as a member of the Program Management Team, is responsible and accountable for the coordination and direction of all patient care related activities within the Outpatient Cancer Clinics and Systemic Therapy Suite.
- All Nursing staff within the Medical Oncology Outpatient Cancer Clinics and Systemic Therapy Suite report directly to the Coordinator.
- They will be responsible for co-ordinating efficient patient flow activities in the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, including equipment, supplies and human resources.
- They will support the Manager, Outpatient Cancer Clinics and Systemic Therapy Suite, in human resource responsibilities, including recruitment and ongoing performance evaluation.
- They will be responsible for the overall management of equipment.
- They will be responsible for ongoing monitoring of the operating budgets for these specific service areas, in collaboration with the Manager.
- They will promote an environment that supports and advances professional practice.
- They will lead the team in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient-centred-care philosophy.
- They will liaise with members of the inter-professional team to ensure excellence in patient care through monitoring of standards of care and patient outcomes.
- They will be a role model for professional and organizational core competencies.
- They will support the development and execution of the goals and objectives of both Southlake Regional Health Centre and the Stronach Regional Cancer Program.
- They will work in collaboration with the SRCC Manager to manage human health resources, ensuring an appropriate balance of skills and capabilities and assessing service quality.
- They will support the quality of patient care, developing and implementing innovative, evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient centred care philosophy.

**Qualifications**:

- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- Recent certification in chemotherapy administration required
- Bachelor’s Science in Nursing (BScN) Degree or related field (preferred)
- Canadian Oncology Nursing Certification (CONC)(c) preferred
- Minimum three years recent clinical oncology experience required
- Minimum of three years recent experience in a leadership role in a healthcare environment, acute care setting preferred;
- Experience in a Regional Cancer Centre considered an asset
- Experience in a Charge role responsible for an ambulatory care clinic an asset
- Certification or experience with chemotherapy administration preferred
- Demonstrates knowledge in clinical practice in Medical/Radiation Oncology, Psychosocial Oncology & Palliative Care
- Possesses highly developed analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities and balance multiple, disparate tasks
- Demonstrates an ability to provide leadership, support and critical analysis in stressful, complex clinical and emotional situations.
- Demonstrates interpersonal, communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team.
