Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Pediatric Outpatient Clinic Coordinator at Southlake Regional Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in coordinating the operations of our outpatient clinic, ensuring seamless patient flow and exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the Paediatric Outpatient clinics, ensuring alignment with our centre's quality and safety standards.
  • Triaging patient appointments and follow-up care, ensuring timely and effective communication with patients and families.
  • Participate in research activities, contributing to the advancement of paediatric care and services.
  • Facilitate workflow for multiple Paediatric Outpatient clinics, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Paediatric inpatient unit, NICU, POGO, BU, and PPU teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Monitor and evaluate quality and satisfaction of the program through customer, staff, and physician feedback.
  • Provide leadership and effectively manage complex clinical decisions, ensuring patient-centred care and safety.
Requirements
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Recent experience working in a paediatric outpatient clinic preferred.
  • Recent experience working with Paediatrics (within the last 5 years) required.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of Childhood asthma, Haematology, Complex Care, RSV, and ROP.
  • Immunization knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Experience with initiation of IV's and blood draws for children preferred.
  • Certified Paediatric Asthma Educator preferred.
  • NRP and PALS required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
  • Education in breast feeding preferred.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative practice model with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and work autonomously utilizing critical thinking skills, and advanced decision-making, problem recognition, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with program development, quality improvement initiatives, and program evaluation.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven success in providing leadership and effectively managing complex clinical decisions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem assessment skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient and family-centred care and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated individual leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Good working knowledge of Electronic Documentation.
