**Your role**

As Arts Reporter/Editor, you are responsible for covering the arts scene in Ottawa, Gatineau and the surrounding area. You must have extensive knowledge of the regional, national and international arts scenes. You must be interested in a wide range of art forms, from music, film and literature, to visual and performing arts. You must be able to report on and critique works on radio and television, and in writing for digital platforms. You must be willing to work in a team with your fellow reporters and producers to share ideas and content. You must also be able to come up with standout original stories and produce impact journalism. Proficiency with the various social media platforms is essential in order to promote your content. You will be primarily assigned to the supper-hour TV newscast, Le téléjournal Ottawa-Gatineau, but may also contribute to other programs and digital platforms.

**Superior French-language skills (spoken and written) and a strong on-camera presence are essential criteria for this role.**

**Please note that this position is temporary and full-time Monday through Friday from April 1st to December 31st, 2023.**
- University degree or the equivalent.
- Three years’ arts reporting experience.
- Strong familiarity with new technologies and social networks.
- Superior writing skills and interest in cross-platform media production.
- Ability to produce relevant, audience-focused stories that reflect. arts-related issues being discussed by the general public.
- Ability to quickly react and respond to breaking stories.
- Interest in and knowledge of cultural events and issues important to the Outaouais and Eastern Ontario.
- Skills as an innovator and risk taker.
- A commitment to reflecting community and diversity.
