The NAC is seeking a strategic and passionate Chief Executive Officer to lead its Foundation’s fundraising activities to support our vision and programs.

The CEO of the NAC Foundation plays the principal role in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship and will serve as an inspiring, visionary leader to the Foundation team, Board of Directors and volunteers.

The incumbent reports dually to the NAC President & CEO and to the Chair of the Foundation. They will serve as a member of the NAC’s Senior Management Committee and attend meetings of the NAC Board of Trustees.

The NAC offers an attractive compensation package that includes a salary range of $220,000 to $260,000, a bonus structure of up to 15% and a comprehensive suite of benefits, pension and annual leave provisions.

**Key Activities**:

- Develop and implement a visionary strategic plan for the Foundation to support a sustainable and comprehensive fundraising program that will increase the pool of individual and corporate prospects and donors.
- Design a strong case for support for the NAC and its key programs with clear, distinct impact stories that will resonate with funders for a Major Comprehensive Campaign to renew the Canadian performing arts sector.
- Actively cultivate relationships with current and prospective national major donors.
- Lead an exceptional program of stewardship and engagement for donors at the NAC and across the country.
- Communicate effectively with the Foundation Board of Directors, providing all information required for the Board to function effectively and make informed decisions.
- Report to and work closely with the Foundation Board to seek their involvement in fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the National Arts Centre in Canada.
- Serve as an advocate for the Foundation team at NAC leadership tables.
- Collaborate with NAC artistic departments and other department leaders to communicate the Foundation’s vision, scope, and key priorities to align NAC and Foundation strategies.
- Work with NAC artistic and program leaders on the cultivation and stewardship of major gifts and partnerships.
- Partner with key internal stakeholders on shared vision and strategies for external relations; collaborate in the execution of projects to ensure a healthy pipeline of new donors into the organization.

**Skill Requirements**:

- Proven track record managing significant and successful fundraising programs, particularly with individual major gifts and corporate partnerships.
- Demonstrated experience in the planning and execution of major campaigns.
- A natural affinity with the NAC’s values of Inclusion, Creativity, Generosity, Sustainability, and Engagement.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to tap into and expand upon a national network of donors.
- Experience working in, or an affinity with, the arts and cultural sector in Canada.
- Expertise in best practices in fundraising, donor cultivation, and stewardship.
- Strong understanding of financial management and experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with storytelling expertise.
- Progressive senior leadership experience managing successful comprehensive fundraising teams.
- Fluency in both official languages is an asset.
