Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (35 hours per week)

Job Reports To: senior Manager Community Partnerships and Programming Diversity

**Key Activities**:

- Contribute to second annual report on how Canadian orchestras program female, trans, non-binary, and IBPOC composers, and how that programming is changing. Specific tasks include:
- Researching the seasons of Canadian orchestras;
- Maintaining detail-oriented records of the research;
- Participating (along with supervisor) in consultations with musicians of diverse genders and ethnicities on sensitive topics regarding the research and how it is presented;
- Being proactive in improving research methodology.

**Skill Requirements**:

- University or conservatory degree or diploma in classical music;
- Understanding of orchestral music and performance;
- Ability to communicate in both English and French an asset, with an emphasis on reading/writing;

**Who Can Apply**:

- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who identify as women, Indigenous, Black, Persons of Colour (IBPoC), persons from the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and persons with disabilities.

**International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
