Are you a highly skilled and passionate individual with a keen interest in policy development and coordination? We are seeking a dynamic Policy Coordinator to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the future of our department's policies and initiatives.

**Policy Coordinator 1**:
As a Policy Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating policy development and implementation functions across the department. You will be responsible for collecting and consolidating ministry-wide information to track the status and trajectory of key initiatives, including policy proposals, legislation, regulations, appointments, and public releases of reports. Your expertise will contribute to the development of policy tools, training materials, and capacity-building initiatives to enhance policy development within the Ministry.

Some key responsibilities of the Policy Coordinator includes:

- Coordinate and support policy functions department-wide, including legislative alignment and documentation, while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and providing valuable input on policy matters.
- Oversee reporting to the Executive Council on government commitments and Minister Mandate items, ensuring alignment with AU's responsibilities.
- Provide expertise and guidance on policy development, legislative processes, and government practices to facilitate effective decision-making within the Ministry.
- Conduct research, prepare briefing materials, and offer timely analysis and recommendations on proposed legislative changes for the branch management team's review.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication by coordinating the preparation of required documentation for regulatory changes and developing training sessions to enhance policy capacity across the Ministry. Additionally, support agency governance responsibilities through document preparation and tracking.

**Policy Coordinator 2 Agency**:
Reporting to the Manager, Policy and Performance, this role is a key conduit in providing advice, direction, and recommendations to public agencies and department executives in compliance with legislation to aid decision makers. The Policy Coordinator serves as the primary contact at the working level to provide advice and recommendations while adhering to legislative requirements and government policies. The role is a corporate resource in establishing and informing best practices in the development and implementation of a consistent and coordinated approach in agency governance.

The main areas of responsibilities for this position are:
**Integrated governance framework**:create, implement, and manage a branch-wide framework for effective governance, implement, and review of policy and legislative frameworks to promote a consistent approach to governance.

**Accountability**:enhance transparency through a coordinated approach for public agency compliance, reporting, accountability, and evaluation activities.

**Strategic relationship management**: provide leadership on relationships with agencies to support their strategic governance deliverables in support of achieving their business objectives.

**Expertise**: Provide guidance and advice to leadership at both agencies and the department on interpreting a variety of Acts and regulations related to Agency governance.

**Qualifications**:
4 years University graduation in a related field (Arts, Business, Public Admin, and Science) plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

**Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of**:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
