Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of business clients, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth. They will work intimately with the client and liaise between their staff and the VFD CEO. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in various accounting software.

Duties

  1. Manage all aspects of the accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, and account reconciliation.
  2. Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with established timelines.
  3. Conduct account analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  4. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage to streamline financial processes.
  5. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary documentation for audits.
  6. Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets and monitor financial performance against targets.
  7. Provide leadership and training to the finance team to enhance their skills and efficiency.
  8. Develop financial policies and procedures to improve internal controls.

Experience

  1. Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a corporate finance environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including payroll processing and accounts payable management.
  3. Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage is essential.
  4. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on account analysis and budget management.
  5. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
