Director Product Management, Mid-Market and Enterprise

We are hiring for an exciting opportunity; a Director to join our Product team and lead our product vision, strategy and portfolio aimed at growing upmarket. This role can be performed from one of our Canadian offices, or remotely from Canada or the US.

What your team does:

Clio offers a suite of products which for the past 15 years have redefined how law firms run their practice, collaborate, and succeed in the digital era. Used by hundreds of thousands of legal professionals worldwide, Clio’s solutions are entering the next phase of growth as we evolve our product suite and enter new markets, segments and areas of specialization.

Your team operates at the leading edge of this growth, ensuring that Clio’s solutions mature, evolve, and specialize to meet the needs of upmarket customers and very large legal firms.

What you'll work on:

We are adding an experienced and strategically-minded Director of Product Management to our leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the vision and strategy that powers Clio’s growth with large customers including large law firms, government and corporate in-house counsel segments. You will lead and inspire a talented team of product managers to drive the development and execution of the strategy.

As the Director, you will shape the direction of the product portfolio, both product areas that you’ll directly manage as well as collaborating with other product areas to ensure that we’re executing against a robust roadmap targeting upmarket segments. You will build alignment across all functions of the business and drive innovation that builds upon Manage’s market leading status.

Product Vision and Strategy (New + Existing Products):

  1. Define the vision and goals for the Clio Mid-market and Enterprise business including existing markets as well as new and expansion vectors.
  2. Articulate and share a clear 1, 3 and 5 year strategy that aligns with the company's goals across the various time horizons.
  3. Ensure the business performance meets the targets set and course correct across product and other business functions where necessary.
  4. Conduct detailed analysis of new opportunities, presenting detailed assessments, forecasts and opinions to drive investment decisions.
  5. Develop and implement strategies as new investments are green lit. Ensure that the products are launched on time with quality and deliver real customer impact.
  6. Lead the creation of a roadmap that drives innovation while addressing market trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics and business goals.
  7. Become THE expert on our customers and have a deep understanding of the environments in which they operate.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Take a holistic approach to the success of the portfolio by partnering with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, operations and customer success, to ensure seamless product development and go-to-market strategies and to course correct where results are lagging.

Foster strong communication channels that breed creativity and accelerate project timelines.

Analysis and Insights:

  1. Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure the success and impact of your teams’ efforts.
  2. Synthesize market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities and create actionable plans to address.
  3. Utilize customer feedback, data analytics, and market intelligence to make informed decisions that enhance product offerings.

Product Lifecycle Management:

Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept and development to launch, post-launch optimization and scale.

Requirements:

  1. 3+ years in a Director role at a multi-product company that sells to the Enterprise segment.
  2. Deep experience in B2B, Saas. (Bonus points for verticalized Saas)
  3. A proven track record with multiple examples of scaling existing products as well as launching new ones.
  4. An ability to go from a 10,000 foot view into the details and back again.
  5. Experience as a thought leader, defining a vision and long-term strategies.
  6. Exceptional communication skills.
  7. Skilled at bringing your product team as well as cross functional teams along with you, motivating them to challenge and support.
  8. Experience working with senior leaders, and are able to easily navigate communications with the executive team.
  9. You can take an ambiguous problem space, quickly understand the issues and circumstances at play and create a concrete and actionable plan for your team.
  10. You have a track record of building and growing a high-performing team of engaged product managers.
  11. A resume of successes, failures and learnings.
