Job Description

Mission

CIMA+ has a long history of success in Canada and is made up of over 3500 employees across the country.

We are currently looking for a Project Coordinator who will support our Buildings group and work on our transit and transit electrification projects. You will take responsibility for projects of a diverse nature and provide support for clients in the execution of their most ambitious undertakings. The ideal person will possess outstanding interpersonal, communication, and writing skills. This is a hybrid role that will be based out of our GTA or Ottawa offices.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Carrying out multidisciplinary coordination and follow-up with our clients in the realization of medium to large-scale projects.
  2. Proactively contributing to the search for solutions aimed at maximizing the quality and performance of projects.
  3. Identifying and monitoring issues that may affect budgets and timelines within established milestones.
  4. Liaising with clients, governments, regulatory authorities, and other project stakeholders to guide projects through the approval processes and effective information exchange.
  5. Performing a variety of cost/budget studies and research assignments, requiring analysis and interpretation of data.
  6. Monitoring progress and performance against established terms of reference and Work Plans.
  7. Preparing, coordinating, and reviewing contracts, Work Plans, reports, and documents. Obtaining sign-offs as required.
  8. Preparing PPT for clients and internal stakeholders for summary of projects.
  9. Managing the process of calls for tenders, awarding, and negotiation of construction and professional services contracts.
  10. Assembling and delivering construction contracts and professional scopes of work.
Qualifications
  1. University Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) or Technical College (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) or similar education with demonstrated experience.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience on engineering design and construction projects.
  3. Ability to read and understand engineering plans and technical specifications.
  4. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional initiative and attention to detail.
  5. Skills in work organization, priority management, and an interest in teamwork in an environment that can change direction quickly.
  6. Proficiency in project management software, including P6 Primavera and/or Microsoft Projects would be an asset.
  7. Sound professional judgment, initiative, and ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, and dynamic environment.
  8. Ability to successfully and collaboratively work within a team environment and across disciplines as well as work independently.
  9. PMP or LEED certification (asset).
  10. Experience with managing multi-discipline designs and construction projects (asset).
  11. Experience in bidding/negotiating contracts and developing strong career partnerships as well as business development skills (asset).
