Position Summary:

The Entrepreneurial Programmes Coordinator is the pedagogical leader responsible for supporting and enhancing student learning and achievement in the broad area of entrepreneurship.

The Coordinator will be responsible for teaching two sections of the , which meet from 4-6 pm two days a week. (This is an 8-hour contact hour allocation in the timetable. For more information about the YELL curriculum, click ) They will also teach at least one entrepreneurship-focused LEAP elective.

In addition to the teaching responsibilities associated with this role, the Coordinator will also collaborate with a range of colleagues and external partners to continue to develop the curricular and co-curricular programming currently in place, while seeking creative opportunities to expand the impact of entrepreneurial programming throughout the Upper School. While this is not a formal team leadership role, the successful candidate will need to coordinate a small group of colleagues who contribute to our Entrepreneurial Programmes, and oversee the provision of entrepreneurship education in the MYP curriculum (especially Design), LEAPs, and via co-curriculars and experiential learning opportunities.

A key facet of the role is the opportunity to liaise with outside partners, including parents, to connect students to opportunities and to use the expertise in our community to enrich our students’ learning. This will include organizing lectures and panels with invited speakers, facilitating work experiences, and co-organizing the annual Career Day for G10 & 11 students.

Given the nature of our Entrepreneurial Programmes, the successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have a passion for ensuring that students, faculty and staff have the best entrepreneurial resources available to them. Key skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
  • The ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with students, parents and colleagues;
  • The ability to take a project-based approach;
  • Independent planning, organisation and prioritisation to coordinate tasks and achieve goals in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Excellent presentation and group facilitation skills;
  • Alignment with the school’s mission and vision statements;
  • Ability to identifying colleagues with an interest in this area and motivate them to be involved;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity;
  • An understanding of information technology systems that support collaboration, networking, and project creation and iteration;
  • Proficiency with using digital technologies
He or she will also collaborate with other Curriculum Coordinators and the MYP/DP Coordinators to ensure vertical and horizontal continuity and progression and to participate in decision-making about the school’s educational programme. In addition to promoting the highest quality of teaching and learning in his or her subject strand, the of Entrepreneurial Programmes Coordinator also ensures that their area of responsibility contributes to the school’s strategic goals.

The Entrepreneurial Programmes Coordinator is supported by the Assistant Head - Enrichment, and works closely with the Divisional Vice Principals, MYP, DP, and EP Coordinators, and the Deputy Head of School. They will be actively supported in their development as a pedagogical leader, and will be expected to participate in ongoing professional development activities.
