Recreation Programmer

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Recreation Programmer to join our team at Adanac Park Lodge in Vancouver, BC.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and implement activity programs for residents, promoting physical and mental well-being.
- Organize and accompany residents on outings, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Coordinate the portering of residents during activities, providing support and assistance as needed.
- Teach techniques and adapt activities to meet the needs of residents with varying abilities.
- Provide functional direction to volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to support residents effectively.
- Report observations of resident progress and participation to Recreation Therapists, informing care plans and programming.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring a well-stocked and organized environment.
- Operate a bus to transport residents to and from community participation activities, prioritizing safety and comfort.
Adanac Park Lodge is a regional Vancouver Coastal Health Long Term Care program specializing in providing care to younger adults with complex health and behavioral needs. Our unique population focuses on younger adults with concurrent Mental Health, Substance Use, and/or Acquired Brain Injury, often with co-existing physical, developmental, and/or chronic health conditions.
Qualifications:- Graduation from a recognized recreational program, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate.
- Valid class 4 license.
