Job Summary

The Senior Vice President (SVP), Foodbuy Member Development is an integral part of the Executive Team for Canada and reports to the President and CEO of Compass Group Canada & ESS North America.

  • Your primary objective will be to maximize Compass' revenue by working as a key member of the Canadian Leadership team to support overall growth of the Foodbuy Member business in Canada.
  • Foster and scale a world-class culture that is both high-energy and strategically focused, in a connected, collaborative partnership with global, North American and Canadian leadership.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive and productive relationships across Foodbuy, including Data Intelligence, Procurement, Distribution and Account Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a high performance, client focused, solution forward organization that includes Sales, Marketing, Procurement and Account Management
  • Recognizes sound market opportunities that exist for Foodbuy as an industry leading Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) that is focused on member engagement, price competitiveness and a member first proposition that creates significant value
  • Responsible for a pipeline of Foodbuy Member Clients in the Foodservice industry including Healthcare, Hospitality, Golf and Leisure, Education, Camps and Restaurants to name a few.
  • Skilled at identifying industry trends and establishing competitive differentiation to manage purchasing optimization, culinary solutions, analytical tools and flexible procurement strategies
  • Drive performance and ensure culture of success. Manage relationships, analyze and track key metrics to drive revenue, identify trends and highlight issues in partner and customer needs.
  • Increase financial performance and group purchasing power for new and existing members and Foodbuy by liaising with Procurement, Category Development, Distribution, and Operations.

  • A driven, entrepreneurial and charismatic business leader with a strong track record of driving growth in a National, matrixed organization. Previous GPO experience and/or has had senior leadership roles in operations, procurement or sales & marketing.
  • Strong client focused executive, and a collaborative people leader who knows how to drive profitable revenue growth by engaging with all relevant internal stakeholders and working through others. Familiar with the distributor and vendor eco-system in Canada.
  • 15+ years' experience in Strategic Leadership positions with a demonstrated increase of responsibility in Operations, Procurement or Growth with a focus on forming and implementing strategic plans.
  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA or other advanced degree preferred).
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting to senior leadership teams, storytelling.
  • Leads with a Growth mindset and exceptional business insight and strategic orientation.
  • Understands how to lead change and motivate teams within dynamic environments.
  • Strong people management and leadership to build, coach, inspire and engage a high-performing team
