We are looking for new team members to support our ongoing projects in the marine and shipbuilding industries. We want people who, like us, think, "ships are cool." More specifically, we're looking for a Marine Electrical Designer who is passionate, collaborative and professional.

In this role, you will be our resident marine electrical expert and given the full collaborative support of our leadership to ensure your work meets the needs of our clients.

The successful candidate may be working on a wide range of projects in the marine, offshore and renewables sectors. Responsibilities include:

  • Electrical systems design, including but not limited to single-line diagrams, power generation and distribution designs, coordination studies, short circuit, load analyses and voyage analyses.
  • Electric propulsion systems, and battery storage integration into new and existing vessels.
  • Conduct options analysis for modifications of various electrical and propulsion systems
  • Identification of commercial components suitable for a marine environment
  • Onsite inspections and surveys as required for the project
  • Project specification development and technical writing

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Application of Classification Society and Flag state rules related to the electrical design of commercial and government vessels.
  • General knowledge of Shipbuilding, Construction and Repair
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to 'think outside the box' to provide our clients innovative solutions to their unique needs
  • AutoCAD proficiency coupled with 3D modeling design and review tools

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Technical degree/university in related discipline and 3 years related experience)
  • Desirable to be a Licensed Engineer with an Engineering Association within Canada
