POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Accounting Clerk is crucial in the finance department, handling various accounting tasks at the resort such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash office duties. This position entails direct communication with resort operators to ensure timely information flow to the finance department and reporting to the Director of Finance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accounting Clerk's daily tasks range from immediate responsibilities to long-term assignments. Here are some common tasks performed:

  • Inputting sales/purchase invoices, credits, account statements, and other financial records with proper documentation retention;
  • Verifying purchase orders with invoices;
  • Processing payments from resort customers, particularly group bookings;
  • Maintaining accurate general ledger and department coding following the resort's Chart of Account Reference Guide;
  • Handling daily cash transactions, preparing deposits, and managing cash transfers to the bank;
  • Monitoring receivables and payables to ensure timely payments and adherence to credit limits;
  • Conducting weekly cheque runs based on financial directives;
  • Providing administrative assistance to resort operators for prompt financial data submission;
  • Addressing finance-related inquiries;
  • Preparing month-end working papers to support the closing process.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience in finance/accounting or bookkeeping for a sizable organization;
  • Team player with a keen eye for detail and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Navision, Microsoft Excel, RTP One, and OPERA is advantageous.
