POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Administrative Assistant, Accounting is responsible for the support of the
resort accounting team to ensure smooth operation and organization of the department. Strong organization skills
and a proficiency in Microsoft Excel are key to the role.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
As a support role for the accounting team the Administrative Assistant, Accounting is responsible for numerous
daily and weekly tasks. Some of the of the most common tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Collect daily cash drops from resort operators, balance and prepare daily deposits, and arrange cash
deliveries to the bank;
• Prepare gratuities for pickup by restaurant staff;
• Assemble weekly cheque runs, prepared by the Accounting Clerk, for signatures and mail to vendors;
• Maintain the paper filing system for accounts payable invoices;
• Assist the Accounting Clerk with purchase invoice entry as required;
• Assist with sales invoice entry based on sales invoices prepared by the Accounting Manager;
• Follow up with customers that have overdue balances as directed by the Accounting Manager;
• Accept deposit and invoice payments from resort customers;
• Provide administrative support when necessary to resort operators to ensure financial information is
received by the department in a timely manner; and
• Other miscellaneous tasks that support the goals of the finance department
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools, specifically with a strong working knowledge of Excel;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely manner with a high level of attention to detail;
• Ability to work as a member of a team towards a common goal;
• Ability to maintain composure while working under pressure and foster a positive environment; and
• Previous experience with bookkeeping would be considered an asset.
