Superintendent (Tees - Civil Construction)

Tlicho Engineering & Environmental Services (TEES) is a leading provider of engineering and environmental services in the Northwest Territories. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to join our team.
About the RoleAs a Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing equipment operator/labour crews on various projects throughout the Tlicho region. You will work closely with our Senior Project Manager to ensure efficient and safe operations, and will be responsible for crew management, scheduling, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities- Crew Management and Scheduling: Oversee and manage equipment operator/labour crews to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Coordinate Daily Work Activities and Logistics: Coordinate daily work activities and logistics to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Subcontractor Oversight: Oversee subcontractors as required to ensure projects are completed to the highest standard.
- Equipment Operation: Operate heavy equipment as required to support project operations.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders, including clients and senior management.
- Invoice Preparation: Prepare and submit invoices for project work completed.
- Project Reporting: Prepare and submit project reports as required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in civil construction/winter road construction/maintenance with a minimum of 5 years at a Superintendent level.
- Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of winter road construction and heavy civil experience, as well as knowledge of all facets of repair work.
- Safety Protocols: Ability to review, apply, and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and practices.
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Minimum of 10 years' experience operating heavy equipment, including Grader, Snow Cat, Plow Truck, and Loader.
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work and lead in a culturally-sensitive work environment.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including MS Office suite of applications.
- Driver's License: Class 1 or 3 Driver's license required.
- Certification: NWT Supervisory Level I or II certification required.
