As the Construction Manager for a significant remediation initiative, you will engage in a long-term project that emphasizes innovative construction practices aimed at creating a safe and sustainable environment. We are in search of a motivated and experienced Construction Superintendent with a proven track record in managing construction operations and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs the implementation of construction work packages, ensuring adherence to design specifications and compliance with approved plans.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to project coordinators, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors, while monitoring their performance to prevent conflicts and delays.
  • Ensures that construction progress aligns with the defined scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards, while maintaining thorough documentation and safety protocols.
  • Interprets and applies technical specifications, assessing site conditions and consulting with project engineers for necessary design adjustments.
  • Guarantees compliance with all regulatory requirements and oversees monitoring for the assigned work packages.
  • Ensures adequate supervision is present on-site during all construction activities.
  • Maintains construction quality through a rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) process, collaborating with project engineers and quality managers to meet testing and inspection requirements.
  • Manages the subcontract closeout process, including substantial completion confirmations and final documentation.
  • Collaborates with various managers to ensure that all work packages are completed in compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Assists in preparing monthly progress reports for senior management, detailing schedule adherence and budget compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Geosciences, or a related technical/business field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 12 years of experience in construction supervision and management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in heavy civil, mining, or remediation projects, particularly in Northern Canada.
  • Strong knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing on-site activities of multiple subcontractors and resolving performance issues.
