Position Overview

Parsons Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead and oversee the construction efforts for a significant water treatment facility.

As the Construction Manager for a major remediation initiative, you will be part of a groundbreaking project that utilizes advanced techniques to ensure a safe and sustainable environment. This extensive project is anticipated to span over a decade, and we are in search of a driven and experienced Construction Superintendent with a strong background in managing site operations and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the implementation of selected construction work packages, ensuring adherence to the approved design specifications.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project coordinators, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors, while monitoring their performance to avoid conflicts and delays.
  • Ensure that construction progress aligns with the defined scope of work, contract requirements, schedules, and budget constraints, while maintaining quality standards and comprehensive documentation.
  • Interpret and apply technical specifications, assessing site conditions to confirm consistency with design expectations. Collaborate with the Project Engineer to address any discrepancies that arise during construction.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements throughout the execution of work packages.
  • Maintain proper supervision on-site during all operational phases.
  • Uphold quality standards through a rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) process, working closely with the project engineer and quality manager to meet inspection and testing requirements.
  • Manage the subcontract closeout process, including substantial completion confirmations and final documentation.
  • Collaborate with various managers to ensure seamless integration of concurrent construction work packages, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist the project engineer in preparing monthly progress reports, assessing schedule and budget compliance for senior management review.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Geosciences, or a related technical/business field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 12 years of experience in construction supervision and management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil, northern mining, or remediation projects, particularly in Northern Canada.
  • Strong knowledge of industry practices and regulatory standards.
  • Proven experience in managing on-site activities of multiple subcontractors and effectively resolving performance issues.
