Construction Superintendent for Water Treatment Facilities

Position Overview:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent for Water Treatment Facilities to oversee the execution of construction projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of water treatment plant projects.
As a leader in the construction management sector, Parsons is engaged in significant remediation initiatives that prioritize innovative approaches to create safe environments. The projects are extensive and involve complex operations requiring a dedicated and experienced professional.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs the construction activities of the water treatment plant, ensuring adherence to the approved design specifications.
- Provides leadership and mentorship to project coordinators, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors involved in the construction process.
- Ensures all work is executed in accordance with the defined scope, timelines, budgetary constraints, quality benchmarks, documentation standards, and safety protocols.
- Interprets technical specifications and evaluates site conditions in relation to the design.
- Monitors compliance with regulatory standards and oversees work package assessments.
- Guarantees that adequate supervision is maintained on-site throughout the construction phases.
- Implements Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes to uphold construction quality.
- Manages the workflow of the subcontract closeout checklist.
- Collaborates with various managerial roles to ensure that work packages meet regulatory and health and safety requirements.
- Assists the project engineer in compiling monthly progress reports on work packages.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Geosciences, or a related technical/business discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in construction supervision and management.
- At least 5 years of experience in heavy civil, northern mining, or remediation projects, particularly in Northern Canada.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Proven experience in managing on-site activities involving multiple subcontractors.
