Product Specialist, Underground Drills Equipment

As a Product Specialist, Underground Drills Equipment, you will support the technical and commercial strategic growth actions for the underground drilling and bolting product lines. This role will involve developing a long-term drilling product strategy, working with product design engineering teams to develop products to functional specification, and collaborating with global commercial, aftermarket, and marketing teams to commercialize products.
This position will also involve supporting commercial product information requirements for Komatsu distribution networks sales and technical teams, conducting market research and competitive intelligence efforts, and maintaining relationships with customers and sales teams to educate and promote product lines and services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development of product line strategy and implementation of existing and new products through the distribution network globally.
- Conducting market research and competitive intelligence efforts to ensure market-driven product direction is achieved.
- Working closely with design engineering to ensure functional specifications are achieved through technical design of product.
- Maintaining and establishing relationships with new and existing customers to educate and promote product lines and services.
- Liaising with technical product support, engineering personnel, and sales to advise on technical issues, potential solutions, or product enhancements.
- Gathering and maintaining competitive pricing models and market data for underground drilling products.
- Supporting commercial and aftermarket teams for drill rigs through planning, training, and program development.
- Working with Marketing and Drills Product Management on launching products, programs, and solutions.
Requirements include:
- BSc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical trade.
- 2+ years of experience working with drill technologies and strong hydraulic, electrical knowledge.
- Direct mining/equipment application experience with similar equipment.
- Knowledge of the drilling market in mining operations.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Commercial aptitude and experience with market analysis, sales upselling, sales forecasting.
- Strong computer skills and organizational and project management skills.
- Valid passport and driver's license with ability to travel globally.
- Proficiency in English language, written and oral.
