Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Air Service Development Director to join our team at the Calgary Airport Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping the future of our air services and cargo operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for air service development, including key milestones and objectives.
  • Airline Partnerships: Identify and cultivate new airline routes and services, building strong partnerships with key carriers.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential new routes and services, and develop strategies to attract and retain airline carriers.
  • Cargo Development: Identify and pursue air cargo and logistics development opportunities, and recommend strategies to establish an international air cargo and logistics platform at the airport.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing effective performance management, succession planning, and training.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with airline carriers, travel and tourism organizations, and other stakeholders to negotiate service agreements and foster strong partnerships.
  • Performance Monitoring: Utilize data and analytics to track the performance of existing routes, assess market demand, and adjust strategies as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Experience: 8-10 years' experience in aviation, transportation, or business development.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical skills, ability to identify market trends, and manipulate and synthesize market data.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in a second language is an asset.
