Job Summary

Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Compensation and Benefits Advisor, the Compensation and Benefits Assistant will participate in operations relating to the accuracy of all aspects of the HR database (work history, personal information, benefits, leave etc.) and the preparation of documentation for payroll processing. You will maintain the Gallery's HRIS (ADP Workforce Now) and deliver a range of services related to payroll, leave, and employee benefits as well as establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all employees of the Gallery.

Requirements

Post-secondary level education in industrial relations, human resources or administration from a recognized academic institution and/or equivalent experience;

• 2-3 years' experience entering data into a Human Resources Information System with minimal error rate;

• 2-3 years' experience in benefits, working with clients, insurance companies;

• 2-3 years' experience working in payroll an asset;

• Minimum 3 years' experience providing customer service
2-3 years working in a unionized environment;

• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

• Analytical and problem solving skills;

• A high degree of initiative, good judgment and the ability to work well under pressure;

• Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines;

• Ability to work independently and as a team member;

• Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
