About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement and Safety Leader to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. This is a permanent, full-time position that will provide leadership and expertise in quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare environment. They will be responsible for leading investigations of patient safety incidents, facilitating quality reviews, and trending analysis. Additionally, they will provide improvement coaching for quality improvement initiatives, support accreditation activities, and educate staff on quality improvement and patient safety priorities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare quality and safety principles, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. They will be able to work collaboratively with staff, physicians, and leaders to apply evidence-based findings to clinical practices and improve patient care outcomes.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong educational background in a healthcare profession or a related field. A master's degree in a clinical health discipline, health services administration, or business administration is an asset. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of quality and patient safety leadership experience, with a strong background in critical review of health records.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of data management, data analysis, and statistical manipulation, as well as excellent report writing and presentation skills. They will be able to present results in a meaningful manner specific to the target audience.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of $57.05 per hour. The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
