Seeking a Clerical Trainer to provide high-quality training and orientation programs for clerical staff in an Oncology Clinic setting.

The Clerical Trainer plays a crucial role in determining, developing, evaluating, and implementing interactive training programs for clerical staff. This includes training on new system functionality, changes to workflows and practices, and creating a supportive learning environment. The Trainer will use adult education principles and established software applications to deliver training activities. Additionally, the Trainer will perform clerical functions as needed.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing orientation and training activities to clerical staff using various teaching modalities and software applications.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to determine training and orientation requirements, develop and deliver training programs, and provide ongoing skills development to staff.
  • Evaluating employee performance and providing input on staff development and training needs to support ongoing competency development.
  • Scheduling training sessions and maintaining related training records.
  • Providing ongoing support and mentoring to students and staff, and participating in organizational initiatives to promote professionalism and best practice.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Grade 12 diploma, medical terminology, and a recognized secretarial/clerical program.
  • Four years of recent, related experience, including one year in a training role or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 50 wpm.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism principles.
