Purpose

As a Senior Privacy Governance Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Scotiabank's global privacy strategy. Your expertise will ensure that our operations align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices, safeguarding customer data and fostering trust.

Accountabilities

  • Champion a customer-centric culture by deepening client relationships and leveraging the Bank's extensive resources and knowledge base.
  • Develop, refine, and implement comprehensive privacy governance frameworks, policies, agreements, and procedures in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to various business units on all aspects of privacy compliance.
  • Support the development of tailored privacy procedures, guidelines, and business requirements for specific departments within the Bank.
  • Lead and contribute to special projects as needed, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Review Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new initiatives, offering valuable insights and recommendations to ensure data protection is embedded from the outset.
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance for PIAs conducted by Global Privacy Officers, fostering a culture of excellence in privacy risk management.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team environment that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates individuals. Foster an inclusive work culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of Scotiabank's risk appetite and risk culture, integrating these principles into daily decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to the Bank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles. Champion operational excellence and effective business controls to mitigate operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risks.
