About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Release Coordinator/Analyst to join our Release Management team in our growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Release Planning:

  • Participate in release planning meetings with Scrum Masters and Project Managers to identify the proper sequencing of release packages.
  • Contribute to and document release recommendations for a release and/or change to production, as needed. Includes release scope, schedule, deliverables, and rollback plan. Review release recommendation with the Release Management team.
  • Maintain release/support release management schedule for specific (or assigned) system(s).
  • Oversee the release notes documented by the team for a release which are published to the internal team and the stakeholders.
  • Update the Release Implementation Plan for a release with information pertaining to the release, including available resources for the Production deployment.
  • Participate in a Release Management rotation cycle to oversee a weekend Production deployment that happens over 2 days.
  • Handle timely communications to all stakeholders within the business and IT teams.

Release Management:

  • Pursue IT Security and Project compliance with release acceptance criteria as outlined by Release Management. Work with IT Security to provide progress updates on Jira cards created by the Release Management team.
  • Communicate deployment outage window to the internal team and the stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and schedule key changes to production activities. This includes the tracking of all elements with various team members as the project moves through testing regions into production.
  • Support release execution by monitoring of each phase for a release. Validate the release as it progresses through various release gates and test phases, including environment monitoring for subsequent incident triage and to assist testers in reporting defects for any errors or issues that need to be addressed.
  • Provide release coordination and communication during and after deployment as the project moves through testing regions into production.
  • Verify capture of stakeholder acceptance/signoff on deliverables.

Other Responsibilities:

Release Standards and Processes:

  • Identify opportunities with other Release Management team members to make recommended tactical improvements to the release management process.
  • Maintain documentation of all processes including stakeholder and team resources.
  • Update release management standards to be followed as set by Release Management. Educate internal team members on the release methodology and strategy, when needed.
  • Participate to collect feedback from the users of release management standards and make recommendations to Release Management to modify or to retire a standard based on the feedback.

Departmental Initiatives:

  • Help Manager manage initiatives involving multiple teams in the department.
  • Help to build plans and schedules.
  • Help track progress across teams/squads.
  • Help identify issues, risks, action items on the initiatives.
  • Document progress and status reporting leveraging tools like Confluence and Jira.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of working experience with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Working experience in agile product development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong facilitation and coordination skills.
  • Collaborative and ability to build relationships across multiple teams within and outside of the department.
  • Effective priority and time management.
  • The ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Analytical, natural problem-solving capability with a focus on innovation.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence is highly advantageous.
  • Experience working in a Services-oriented environment is an asset.
  • Preference for experience with working in Insurance industry and implementation of web-based policy administration systems with integrations to legacy applications.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is an asset.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
