Position Summary

We are seeking a Release Coordinator/Analyst to join our Release Management team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth execution of software releases.

Key Responsibilities:

Release Planning:

  • Engage in release planning discussions with Scrum Masters and Project Managers to determine the optimal sequence of release packages.
  • Document and present release recommendations, including scope, schedule, deliverables, and rollback plans, to the Release Management team.
  • Maintain the release management schedule for assigned systems.
  • Oversee the creation of release notes for distribution to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Update the Release Implementation Plan with relevant information for production deployment.
  • Participate in a rotation cycle for overseeing weekend production deployments.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in both business and IT teams.

Release Management:

  • Ensure compliance with IT Security and project standards regarding release acceptance criteria.
  • Notify internal teams and stakeholders of deployment outage windows.
  • Coordinate and schedule significant changes to production activities, tracking all elements as projects progress through testing phases.
  • Support release execution by monitoring each phase and validating the release as it moves through various gates.
  • Facilitate communication during and after deployment as projects transition into production.
  • Confirm stakeholder acceptance and signoff on deliverables.

Additional Responsibilities:

Release Standards and Processes:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Release Management team.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all processes and resources.
  • Update and educate team members on release management standards and methodologies.
  • Gather feedback from users of release management standards to recommend modifications or retirements.

Coordination for Departmental Initiatives:

  • Assist management in overseeing initiatives that involve multiple teams.
  • Contribute to the development of plans and schedules.
  • Track progress across various teams and squads.
  • Identify issues, risks, and action items related to initiatives.
  • Document progress and status using tools like Confluence and Jira.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of professional experience, with 3-5 years in a related field.
  • Experience in agile product development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven facilitation and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across teams.
  • Effective time and priority management skills.
  • Capability to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and innovation.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a service-oriented environment is beneficial.
  • Background in the insurance industry and web-based policy administration systems is preferred.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
